Artist Alice Boyle is celebrating the power of dreams and mythology with her new art exhibition which will feature in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The exhibition, which will take place in 2 Howe Street in the capital during a three week run, is entitled "We're all imperfect circles".

Alice said: "Inspired by the power of dreams, mythology and the collective unconscious, I have used textures, vivid colours, shapes and symbols to stimulate the senses, both consciously and subconsciously. I explore the intrinsic need for faith in an abstract way.

“My artwork is about the journey of learning about the spirit of the world and ourselves. I want people to feel there is a joy and playfulness within my work and that comes from living in the moment and enjoying the process”.

The exhibition opens on Tuesday 26 July-Sunday 14 August, and is open for viewing between 10am and 7pm. Alice will be in the gallery throughout the three week run and is urging people from the Largs area to pop in and say hello.

And Alice's boyfriend Calum Pretsell has even taken part in the publicity by posing naked in the rain with one of Alice's pictures!

Alice moved to London in 2007 after gaining a Masters from Edinburgh College of Art and a BA from The University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. She has had six solo exhibitions in London, including at Mayfair; Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, and at Bedfordbury Gallery in Covent Garden. In March 2007, she co-directed, ‘The Graffiti Project’, at Kelburn Castle in Scotland, working with Brazilian artists.

Alice, who is the daughter of Lord Glasgow, Patrick Boyle, hosted a successful exhibition at Kelburn Country Centre last November in which she cited Kelburn and Ayrshire as influences in those works.
