Bosom Buddies

The next Bosom Buddies get together will be on Tuesday 26 July at 7.30pm in the Lounge, Main Street, Largs. Bosom Buddies is your local friendly support group who have all experienced cancer. They offer comfort, friendship, advice and support to anyone who has cancer or going through treatment. Stoddy's Session

On Sunday 31 July at 2.45pm - "Stoddys Session" at The Waterside, Bath Street Largs. Come along and bring your instrument.Join in this friendly traditional music session.

Ladies Night

It's Ladies Night at the Masonic Hall in Largs on Saturday from 7.30pm till late, and free entry. There will be costume, jewellery, handbags, nibbles, live music and more.

Community Council

Largs Community Council's ordinary meeting will take place on the 21st July at 7pm in Largs Library. Business will include licensing applications, review and possible decision on the proposed forestry proposal amongst other issues. The meeting is open to the public.

Roadshow

KA Leisure are hosting their free summer roadshow on Friday, July 29. There will be lots of fun for children during the summer holidays on Largs Promenade from 11am-3pm. In addition to the usual sports, games, inflatables and competitions there will be free swimming for all the family at Vikingar. Visitors to the roadshow can also take a tour of KA Leisure's Vikingar attraction for only £1 per person.

Free Swimming

Throughout the holiday period, KA Leisure's swimming pool at the Vikingar! centre will play host to a range of swimming activities including free public swim sessions Monday to Friday for all children and young people. Just present your NA Library card or NEC card for free entry.

Holiday Club

Largs Churches Holiday Club, Guardians of Ancora, is on Monday 1- Friday 5 August at Clark Memorial Church Hall, open to all children attending primary school from 10am-12 noon - there are still places available. For more details, phone 673162.

Largs Library

During the summer holidays, every Thursday there will be a free drop in session between 11am and 2pm - and on Thursday 21 July, there will be craft sessions. On Thursday 28 July, there will be board game sessions. Please note these sessions are drop in only and will not be supervised by staff.

Also, their very popular Family Lego Club is back on every Saturday between 10am and 11am.

Vintage Tractor

Ayrshire Vintage Tractor & Machinery Club’s 33rd Annual Rally is being held at Whitefordhill Agri-Centre on the A70 just outside Ayr on Sunday 24 July 2016.

There are almost 400 exhibits on show, and entries to date consist of tractors, classic cars, and motorcycles as well as steam tractors.

A special ring event this year is our ‘Wheel’ of Tractors and other entertainment includes a display by Prestwick Dog Agility, Chainsaw wood sculpture, Pony Rides and the ever popular Children’s Straw Scramble. Further information can be obtained from Margaret Howie on 01292 287297.

Football

This year's football camps will be Euro 2016 themed and give the kids the chance to improve their skills and take part in small sided games. Age Concern

The winners of the Age Concern Prize Draw held in the AD Cameron Centre, Lade Street, Largs,on Monday 18 July were as follows:- 1 Francis Dougal, 2 Carrie Dowson, 3 Jo Wilkie, 4 Mary McKay, all win vouchers to use in Morrisons Supermarket.

Dates to note: Saturday 23 July, Afternoon Tea 2pm till 4pm entry by ticket only. On Monday 25 July, the Exercise Class meets at 10.30 am on Friday 29 July. The Scrabble Group meets at 1.45pm.

On Thursday 18 August, a visit to Culzean Castle followed by High Tea at Dobbies Garden Centre has been arranged - the cost is £23, names and monies will be taken Monday 25 July between 10am and 12 noon.
