There is some good news from Largs Rotary this week as they are set to bring back the popular rubber duck race to town.

The Rotary will be running the family event during the Viking Festival where 1000 rubber ducks are launched into the Gogo Burn, with numbers on the back for sponsors. Previously the event was run by the local Round Table, but due to circumstances are no longer able to do so, and the Rotary have agreed to step in and they hope the fundraiser will be well supported. The archive photo shows a very young Fiona Macintosh with the ducks in the year 2000!

It is with regret the Largs Rotary Club has had to cancel the proposed Dragon Boat Race, and this will still be under consideration for a future date.

With two new members recently joining, and already showing willingness to be involved from the start, their input will be greatly appreciated.

The members are looking forward to meeting this year's Brisbane Ambassador Lewis Smith who will attend the club on returning from holiday. Lewis has had several ideas already on how to approach the role, and can be assured of a warm welcome.
