Excitement is mounting as over 50 head-turning vehicles head to Largs this weekend for the town’s first ever motor Classic Car Festival to be staged on the famous Promenade from 12 noon to 6pm on Sunday 31 July.
It’s going to be great day out full of family fun; whether you’re a car enthusiast or simply want to visit Largs there’ll be something for everyone.
From a 1947 Rolls Royce, a Bentley, Jaguars, MGB Roadsters and Midgets to Spitfires, Morris Minors and Minis these classic cars will bring back lots of happy memories or just inspire youngsters with a motoring time gone by.
The Classic Cars Exhibition will be held in a huge undercover marquee on the prom’s green, and there’ll be an adjacent marquee with a whole raft of musical entertainment, from jazz band with a folkie twist ‘Boodle-AM Band’ and jazz duo 'Jamie and Anita', who will be playing some sultry jazz sessions.
Not only do KIDS GO FREE, they have their own entertainment too; with free sing-a-long shows entitled ‘The McDougalls Rockin’ Road Trip’ specially created for the event by Scotch Both Productions, free face painting and even a close hand magic from a wandering magician, Largs’ very own Andrew Speirs.
When all the sea air and excitement makes you hungry, come along to the hot food stalls and licenced bars too.
For a complete family day out, come to Largs Classic Car Festival. Entry is just £3 for adults. Further information is available at www.largsclassiccars.com
