Bridge
Fort Matilda Bridge Club, Tarbet Street, Gourock is running bridge classes for beginners starting on Monday 12 September @ 2pm in the club rooms - easily accessible from Largs/Skelmorlie by 901 bus. Cost - £40 - For further information contact the Secretary, Ann MacLeod 01475 522 181
Also Fort Matilda is running 'Play and Learn' sessions for people who have some knowledge of bridge but would like to improve .This will be held in the club rooms on Wednesday mornings @ 10am starting on 7 September - more information from Secretary 01475 522 181.
Crash
There was a road crash on the A78 between Largs and Skelmorlie on Sunday morning, on top of the disruption in Largs Town Centre which was closed for roadworks.
Summer Fete
St Joseph & St Patrick's Church Wemyss Bay is hosting a summer garden fete. 
The Fete is to take place in the church Grounds in Forbes Place , Wemyss Bay on Sunday 21 August , starting at 11am. Stalls include Home Baking, Bottle Stall, Books, Toys, Jewellery, Tombola Traidcraft , Raffles, Burgers and Hot Dogs. There will be lots of fun activities and games for children.
Tickets are priced at £2.50 each and this includes a Cream Tea. There is no charge for children.
Proceeds will be split between S.C.I.A.F.(Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund) and Church Funds.
S.C.I.A.F. is a charity which provides help for developing countries. The portion of money raised for the Church will help towards the cost of the recent refurbishment of the church. 
Choir
‎Simone Welsh‎ is looking to start up a kids choir in the new school term. Would anybody be interested? She will also be offering individual violin lessons and individual singing lessons. Open to all ages. Go to the Skelmorlie Tenants and Residents Association facebook page for more details.
Lego
Skelmorlie Library is on the look-out for any unwanted Lego. You can hand your lego blocks into library or email skelmorlielibrary@north-ayrshire.gov.uk
Charity 
A charity fundraiser is taking place in the Eglinton Bar in Skelmorlie on Saturday 27 August for Crohns and Colitis UK. The event starts at 3pm including prosecco on arrival. There will be craft stalls, raffle and fun activities, and evening entertainment from the Skelmorlie Skanks.
