Largs Churches Holiday Club is 23 years young and is celebrating another resounding success.

This year’s club was entitled “Guardians of Ancora” with a total of 54 children taking part, exploring five different stories from the Bible.

Using a mixture of drama, crafts, challenges, games, quizzes and Bible lessons, the holiday club was blessed with dry weather.

And as you can see from our pictures by Charlie Gilmour, the youngsters were jumping through hoops and enjoyed all the activities which took place, shortly before returning to school.

Children gathered every day at Clark Memorial Church to become Guardians for the day and find the lost treasure from the city of Ancora.

Co-ordinator David Hannah said: "Our thanks go to the Rev David Watson, Kirk Session and the congregation of Clark Memorial Church for allowing the use of their hall, grounds and resources. We would like to thank all the willing volunteers, the local clergy: Ian Curry, Trish Laird, Chris Vermeulen, David Watson and Gordon Weir for supporting us with daily devotions.

"Thanks also to the congregations in the town for their support, and to the parents for sending their children and young people along each day. Finally, thanks to everyone who attended, with endless enthusiasm all working together to make it such a huge success."
