It is cheers to plans for a new whisky distillery set for Ardgowan Estate in Inverkip, which is expected to bring jobs, investment and tourism opportunities to the area.
The overall project which is looking to tie in with the history of Ardgowan Estate and its links with Sir Robert the Bruce will also include a visitor centre, shop and cafe.
Martin McAdam, who is the owner of the new company, Ardgowan Distillery Company, said: "It has a fantastic location and history and we are hoping to tap into that.
"It is not just a distillery - it will also include a visitor centre and cafe, and integrate into Inverclyde Council's ambitious plans for the tourism network, it is only a 35 minute drive from Glasgow, its right next to the entrance of the regional park, and then you have the cruise-liners coming in at Greenock, bringing 100,000 people a year into the west of Scotland."
A public exhibition is taking place at the Inverkip Hotel on Thursday 22 September starting at 3pm until 8pm, with planning application to Inverclyde Council in October.
