The infants this week have been using their literacy, numeracy and science skills as they gathered ingredients and followed instructions in order to bake gingerbread men. They then showed how creative they could be in writing fictional stories about gingerbread men. They explored the art technique of ‘marbling’ and used these skills to make their ‘Giant Beanstalk’.

P2 have been looking up facts about Roald Dahl, interviewing one another and creating newspaper articles.

P3 have also been discussing our favourite toys and writing descriptions about them.

P4/3 have all been very creative this week, writing imaginative stories “What lies behind the magical door”. P5 had a fantastic time at the Science Centre on Wednesday where they learned lots of interesting information about water. They particularly enjoyed the experience involving exploding balloons and making clouds. It was also great fun getting soaked with the water guns.

P6 started their novel “Street Child”. So far it looks really exciting. The children are really excited about the new football season with Mr Sweeney and Mr McDonald.

P7 have completed their fantastic models based on something they have learned about WWII. They have cooperated well in their groups to achieve their goal. They have written exciting stories about the blitz using adjectives and adverbs and will be creating their own collages of a blitz scene. They continue to enjoy the novel “Boy in the Striped Pyjamas” and also learning more about The Holocaust.
