A Jaguar E-type rally round Great Britain stopped at the scenic setting of Kelburn Castle during a coastal tour to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK.

The E-type Club has come up with a novel idea to drive 4000 miles around the perimeter of mainland UK in 200-mile chunks for the charity.

The starting point was near the coast in West Sussex on Monday 12 September, and is heading to various coastal areas including Penzance, Blackpool, and the Kyle of Lochalsh.

Although UK-based, this charity is raising funds to find a cure for one of the most common cancers in men in the world and the Jaguar E-type rally is to help raise awareness of the charity. The classy cars arrived at Kelburn Castle for a spectacular backdrop on Monday 19 September at around 5pm, before leaving the next day at around 10am.

Musician and tv presenter Jools Holland, who is an E-type club member, said: "‘If, like me, you’re a man who thrills at the prospect of handsome E -type Jaguars from all over the world making a historic round Britain trip, then please pause and consider the purpose of this extraordinary event. It’s to remind us to be aware of, and get checked for, prostate cancer. Please allow your thoughts to return to the beautiful motor cars on their great mission.

‘A talented and modest man, who brilliantly runs our club, with his team, and has provided all with a way to do some good with our cars – Philip Porter.

‘I am lifelong Jaguar fan, whose life will hopefully be a bit longer because of prostate cancer awareness."
