It was a car wash with a difference at Largs Fire Brigade on a recent Sunday.

The event was a joint fundraiser between the Largs First Responders and Scottish Fire and Rescue, including defibrillator demonstrations on the day.

Raising the marvellous sum of £500, First Responders chairman James Bertram said: "The funds are being raised to place a public access defib on the outside wall of the fire station in the same way that we have at other locations in the town. Thanks to everyone for their support."

All money raised will go to new defibrillator at the Fire Station in Brisbane Road, with a donation being made to the Firefighters Charity.

The Largs First Responders team have already raised funds for two defibrillators in town, at Morrison's, and in Largs Main Street outside The George bar. A third defibrillator is also accessible at the Co-op in Gallowgate Street.
