Largs teenager ballerinas Rachel and Megan Ashmead will go to the ball as they star in a stylish classic ballet production in their hometown next month.

The Alba Ballet Company in Greenock is bringing its sparkling version of Cinderella to Barrfields Theatre.

The company, which had sell out performances of The Nutcracker, is now in the process of getting ready now for our next production.

Inverclyde's only classical ballet production company give you the opportunity to see some of the best amateur ballerinas in the west of Scotland - a must see for all classical ballet enthusiasts.

Megan and Rachel will be starring with Alba Ballet in the stylish production on Saturday 19 November at 7.30pm, and also at The Beacon in Greenock on 11 and 12 November.

Julie Gunn, principal of Alba Ballet, said: "Rachel and Megan are part of a very talented group of ballerinas, many of whom also train with Scottish ballet.

"Obviously we are looking forward to our first ever production in Largs and of course giving the people of Largs the opportunity to see Cinderella. Alba Ballet train every second Sunday. After two years of hard work, they are now ready to take Cinderella to the ball Rachel is one of Alba's principal ballerinas and will be performing the part of the Fairy Godmother during the production and Megan is part of the equally important Corps De Ballet. For those with a passion for classical ballet, Cinderella is a must see and a great opportunity not only to see Rachel and Megan but some of the most talented ballerinas in the west of Scotland."
