Largs Girls Brigade helped provide important goods for people in Malawi this week as part of a special friendship.

The girls joined members of St. John's Africa committee to help load the Boys Brigade minibus with boxes full of things being sent to Malawi.

St John's church has a long partnership with Malawi and regularly collect a variety of donations which they send to Africa via the Raven's Trust. This time the boxes were full of school books, bedding, towels and even a sewing machine. These items are distributed to various organisations in Malawi including a school, hospital and sister church in Katalonje.

Thanks to John Keachie for the photo.

The Juniors were busy thinking about pumpkins and using them as the basis of a prayer. They also enjoyed playing a variety of games. The Explorers had a games night and played lots of team games as part of the physical section of their badgework.

The Brigaders were also beginning their physical badgework this week. Each girl has been given a pedometer and they have to record how many steps they take each day.

At devotions we were thinking about our Girls Brigade badge and the lamp at the bottom of it. This reminds us that Jesus is the light of the world and that he helps to guide us through our life.
