Largs silver medal sensation Abby Kane received a once in a lifetime opportunity to go to Buckingham Palace last week.
It was part of a special reception for Paralympians, and the 13 year old swimming star was delighted to spend some time with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate.
Abby also attended the Olympic and Paralympic celebrations in Trafalgar Square which gained nationwide news coverage, and had a terrific atmosphere.
She said: "I got to speak to Princess Kate and William, and it was very exciting, The event was a kind of meet and greet, and there were a lot of thank yous for all the achievements in Rio."
The Queen's ladies in waiting, who are from the west coast of Scotland, also took a great interest in Abby's achievements.
The Queen and Prince Philip, and Princess Anne, also attended the prestigious ceremony at the palace.
Abby's mum Karen said: "It was very exciting for Abby. There was a great atmosphere at Trafalgar Square which was jam packed."
It was a champagne reception at the Palace with a range of culinary delights for the Paralympians to enjoy.
The Largs Academy pupil thoroughly enjoyed her date with royalty, and mum Karen said: "Kate was wearing a white dress with red flowers and red shoes, and Abby thought she was extremely pretty. The Queen was wearing a turquoise dress.
"Events like this might be a once in a lifetime opportunity, so it was fantastic for Abby."
