The Largs Yuletide night turned out to be a great success on Thursday evening with large crowds lining up both sides of Main Street to cheer on Abby Kane, the silver medal Paralympics sensation.

Shouts of 'Well done Abby' and 'Congratulations' could be heard ringing around as the 13 year old, with her coach Sharon McIntyre, passed through the town centre on top of an open top double decker bus.

The impressive parade was the biggest yet for the Explore Largs yuletide festival, including Largs Boys Brigade, and Royal British Legion Scotland Largs branch, with the 'Scottish Cockney', WW2 P.O.W Jack Ranson, aged 96.

The good weather coupled with the funfair rides, and new festive lighting provided a fantastic feel good factor as shops, restaurants and bars reported a good evening.

The evening was complete with a spectacular fireworks display off Largs Pier at 8.20pm.
