Ho ho ho! Santa Claus is a very happy chappie as he has a new residence at the Vikingar in the weekends leading up to Christmas.
That is because an excellent new grotto has been set up within the leisure complex in Greenock Road, Largs, thanks to efforts from local volunteers.
Lesley McCormack who was the brainchild behind the idea said: "The area for Santa's Grotto was kindly given to us by KA Leisure, and Largs People Facebook page gave me their backing, and provided some funding that was left over from their Christmas lights.
"It is all being run by volunteers and any profit that is made will go back into the grotto for next year."
And Santa's new home at Vikingar! opened last weekend to great acclaim from good boys and girls of all ages. Elizabeth Blair said: " It's so lovely and has a Scandinavian feel to it. It is well worth a visit. I've been twice!"
The grotto is open over the next two weekends, on Saturdays (11am-4pm) and Sundays (12 noon -4pm) and includes arts and crafts for children to do. Everyone will be automatically entered into a prize draw.
Thanks to Ken McKissock for the photos.
* Largs People Administrator Anita Kelly said: "We would like to give a great big thanks to the Largs people members and local businesses who helped raise £2200 for the new Christmas lights on the avenue trees, and fund the grotto."
