Cunninghame Housing Association are proposing to hold an event on Thursday 23 February involving a new development at Balnagowan.
They have invited neighbours to the site and displayed posters locally in order to seek the views of the local community on the proposed new build development, in advance of a planning application being made.
The development will provide a total of 28 new affordable housing units comprising a mixture of 2 and 3 bedroom homes.
The houses are all 2 storey and are either semi detached or terraced.
A spokeswoman for CHA said: "We will be commencing works on site towards the end of this calendar year.
"There has been no social housing built in Skelmorlie for a considerable number of years and this new development will provide much needed affordable housing for rent in this area."
The open day takes place at Skelmorlie Community Centre on Thursday 23 February from 2.30pm-6pm.
