The Kelburn Garden Party Festival builds on its reputation, hand crafted and honed over the last eight years, as one of the most unique and exceptional festivals in the UK. Their 2017 line-up from 30 June- 3 July demonstrates as strong an appreciation for underground club culture and rock, as for folk, jazz, electronica and world music, tying together programming strands deliberately traditional and historical with the contemporary and forward looking.

Kelburn Garden Party is described as "An audacious, thrilling cultural safari over three days encompassing a multi-genre musical programme, electronic performances and DJs, art installations, carnival entertainment, creative workshops, stimulating children's events and adventurous hikes through the astounding countryside."

This year also marks the tenth anniversary of the spectacular graffiti project which adorns Kelburn Castle. In 2007, following the advice of his children David and Alice, Lord Glasgow Patrick Boyle invited four of the world's leading graffiti artists from Brazil, working alongside Scottish talent, to create a unique burst of colour to the façade and turret.

Kelburn spokesman Alan Miller said: "Historic Scotland granted permission to keep the mural as a permanent feature of the building."

The festival team - in co-operation with the castle and land owners - have spent many years carefully considering how the area around the Castle is populated with site specific artworks, , nomadic musical performances and physical theatre that are as much a key to the event as the main musical programme.

This year’s eclectic programme includes :- Mr Scruff / Hot 8 Brass Band / Numbers ft. Optimo, Spencer & Jayda G / Mungo’s Hi Fi & Charlie P / Prince Fatty & Horseman / Om Unit / Addison Groove / Flamingods / / Mouse Outfit ft. Jehst / KOG & The Zongo Brigade / Be Charlotte / Man of Moon / She Drew The Gun / Ezra Collective / Jamie & Shoony / Colonel Mustard & Dijon 5 / Rise Kagona & The Jit Jive Band / Jinx In Dub / Bombskare / Pronto Mama

The fruits of this considered approach; wither an acoustic jazz ensemble or a choir in the walled garden, an old school acid house rave at the Beech Plateau, The Secret Forest Project (a living theatre installation in a Labyrinth-like children’s maze) a fine dining restaurant deep in the woods serving 6 people at time, the famous "magical mystery tours" or sailing forth on the Waverley Steamer afterparty… all these highlights combine to provide festival-goer of any age with a quite remarkable, enriching and unforgettable experience.
