Largs Gymnastics Club gymnasts Anna Hollins, Kacey Morrison and Lucia Coggins were in action for the start of the competition year last weekend 4th and 5th March.

The gymnasts competed in the Scottish Championships at Bells Centre Perth.
The Scottish Artistic Championships is a showcase for mens and boys and women and girls gymnastics with the best gymnasts in Scotland competing.
Anna competed in the Espoir competition age 12/13 years, Kacey Morrison and Lucia Coggins competed in the Junior competition age 14/15 years.
Anna was first up on the Saturday morning and finished an excellent 4th place all around. She qualified in 1st place on bars and floor and 2nd on vault for the apparatus finals on the Sunday.
Kacey and Lucia competed next with Kacey coming a fantastic 6th place and Lucia had a couple of unfortunate falls finishing a very good 14th place. Kacey made all 4 apparatus finals qualifying in 1st place for bars.
On finals day Anna came a brilliant 1st on bars and took the Scottish Espoir Bars Champion title. An unfortunate stumble on floor put her out of the medals and she finished 4th on vault.
Kacey had a fantastic competition coming 1st on bars and beam taking the Scottish Junior Bars and Beam Champion titles.
The three girls did an amazing job and should be very proud of themselves.
Largs lad Robbie Young also competed at the Championships but had to pull out due to injury. In February the boys competed in their age group competition.
Pre level 1 was Connor Taylor who came an excellent 3rd place and Logan Coyle came 9th, Level 3 Kieran Walker placed 6th with Lee Gordon placing 7th.
And finally, we saw Robbie Young and Grant Arneil both coming an excellent 1st place in the Level 4 and 5 competitions with Rob Russell placing excellent 2nd place.
Another great start to the coming competition year for Largs Gymnastics Club.
