Catch up

A new 'Cumbrae Catch Up' event is taking place on the island. The idea is to hold quarterly meetings each with a different theme and to encourage groups on the island to share ideas and thoughts. The first meeting has the theme of funding opportunities and representatives of all island groups are very welcome to attend. It takes place on Saturday March 25 at the DA Hall at the Garrison from 10am-12 noon.

Daffodil Tea

Age Concern Hall was transformed on Saturday March 11 with a lovely spring atmosphere as the Brownies, Guides and Rainbows held a daffodil tea. There was a tea room serving coffees, teas and homemade biscuits, cakes, a raffle, a tombola, home baking stall and a book stall. There was a guess the weight of a cheese cake, and of course, daffodils on sale.

The girls worked really hard and raised the marvellous sum of £570. The girls and their leaders would like to thank all their helpers, including their mums, and everyone who attended and donated items. Thanks also to Island Express who donated the daffodils.
