Road Closed
The filming of scenes for the drama “Shetland” will see the closure of part of the Old Largs Road. From 7pm on Thursday March 30 to midnight on Friday 31st, the road beside Loch Thom at junction of Dowries Farm and the junction with Dunrod Road will be closed.
Undercover Police
In the past plain clothed police officers have been employed on the Glasgow-Wemyss Bay line. They intend to continue this surveillance on the train after several incidents that have taken place causing alarm to passengers.
Inverkip Church
Research into Inverkip Churches past has been interesting to those who were able to read past archives stored at the Mitchell Library in Glasgow.
Distillery
The work on building the Ardgowan Distillery is due to start later this year. The sum of £500,000 has already been raised but there is to be a funding drive to raise £17 million needed for the Distillery to go into production.
Archery
There is an opportunity to have a go at archery. A course is on offer at the Everton Scout Camp in June. Further details can be had by contacting by email, evertonscoutcampsite@gmail.com
Football
A plea has gone out from the organisers of the Ardgowan football Development group that parents should check if training is going ahead before they leave their children at the school. Due to inclement weather the practice can be cancelled at short notice.
Fellowship
Skelmorlie, Wemyss Bay and Inverkip Fellowship - The meeting on Thursday March 30 in Skelmorlie Church hall will be the AGM of the group.
Inverkip Institute
Members of the group will have been at Bridge of Weir for the Renfrewshire Federation Show on Saturday. Members have entered items and look forward to see how they fared in the competitions.
The meeting of the Institute on Monday April 3 will be the A.G.M. The last competition for the session is for a Decorated Hard Boiled Egg. And a fun one is for a Cute Egg Cup.
Craft Activities
Inverkip and Wemyss Bay Library at the Inverkip hub will be holding craft activities during the School Easter break on Monday April 10 at 3.30-4.30. Places can be booked by calling 715676.
Church Services
Both Inverkip and Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay Churches have their services planned for Easter. Full details will be postered soon.
