Caring staff and customers at an opticians in Largs have donated £476 to Comic Relief.

Staff from Specsavers on Aitken Street organised fun activities in the run-up to Red Nose Day on 24 March.

Customers donated money in exchange for tasty baked goodies in the bake sale, and they even got the chance to buy their own pairs of novelty red waving hand glasses.

Specsavers Largs store director Chris Leatham says: ‘We’re really pleased to have raised money for the cause. Customers really got into the spirit of things and enjoyed wearing their novelty specs.

‘Thank you to everyone who donated – it’s very much appreciated.’

Specsavers in Largs joined stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa as part of a drive to raise at least £250,000 for the charity.

Specsavers has been a Comic Relief partner since 2015.
