Courageous Largs mum Claire Paton was delighted to complete the Virgin London Marathon last month.
Claire of Aubery Crescent was raising funds for Multiple Scleroris after winning a place on the prestigious 26.2 mile city challenge by public ballot.
She said: “What an amazing and emotional day. I am so honoured and humbled to have been part of a once in a lifetime experience and share it with thousands of others running for charities close to their hearts for lost loved ones.”
Claire gave a huge thanks to her ‘support team’ including husband Scott, Pauline, Lynne, Claire and Jose. She added: that they ‘really made a difference when the going was getting tough’ and cheering her onwards towards the finish line.
And another delighted local mum who took part in the marathon was Fiona De Stefano of Largs, who was raising funds for Save The Children.

She said: “Well I only went and ran the London Marathon! I am feeling totally amazing and so happy and was very proudly wearing my medal all the way home to Scotland.
“I have so many people to thank without whom my marathon dream would have been impossible. I certainly didn’t do this alone! From every single person that donated...came to the disco...chose a song for my playlist...sent messages or tracked me...you have been incredible!
“Extra special thanks to Nana Jan, Pauline & Chris, Helen, Lorraine and Aileen.”
“I had an absolutely amazing and unforgettable day.”
