Litter Picking

Inverkip Church Eco group were out in the rain on Saturday 13th lifting litter from Millhouse Road. It is a shame to say they filled 7½ bags of rubbish as this is a reflection on those who think nothing of discarding their litter on the roadside.

Fair Trade

The Inverkip Church Fairtrade Group will have a stall at the Largs Agricultural Show and hope to have a raffle for a Hamper of items of Fare Trade, Gifts of items can be left in the box at the Church West door.

Christian Aid Coffee Morning

The Coffee Morning after the Church Service on Sunday 14th raised £315. Thank you to all who contributed.

Bats

There was a visit from ecologists from ITPEnergised at Inverkip Church on 15th May when they carried out a Bat Survey. Last year the Church had to wait till the roosting bats they had had gone before they could clear the area where they had been roosting.

Wemyss Bay Primary P.T.A

The Ladies Fundraising night has been planned by the group and they are looking for donations for a raffle. Tickets for the event £10 will be available at the Wemyss Bay Community Centre on 27th from 10-11am, 28th, 2:45-4pm and 3rd June 10-11am. There will be a disco, bingo 50/50 envelopes and a raffle.

Bible Study group

Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay Bible Study group has finished for the session and they hosted a afternoon tea at Strathclyde House on Tuesday. The Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay Church have organised a bus trip to Glasgow Cathedral on 3rd June at 7.30. This is to hear the “Symphonic Praise” being held there.

Messy Church

Inverkip’s next Messy Church is on Saturday May 27 in the Church Hall, 10.30am-12.30pm.

Road Repair

When traffic lights were in operation outside Inverkip recently drivers were pleased to see workmen attending to the rut in the middle of the road. Alas the repair did not fill all the rut. Did they run out of tar?
