A young and upcoming band with a 60s vibe, who met in Largs Academy, are hitting the big stage after a number of gigs in the West of Scotland.
Cameron Gorman, Finlay Quinn, Robbie Quinn, and Robert Galloway were schoolfriends, and after a bond emerged between the foursome doing last year's school musical 'West Side Story',
The name of the band is El Salvador.
Cameron and Finlay were first involved, before the band started to emerge, with Cameron and Ian meeting through attending the same college course, and after advertising for a bassist, they found Shaun, and now they are ready to hit the road after releasing two singles - The Traveler and SYLA (See you later Alligator) on Spotify, iTunes, Google Play and Amazon.
A spokesperson for the band said: "We are trying to appeal to today's musical preferences (electronic and fake). We are totally committed to the sound we created at the beginning. We like to describe it as "60s Revival" the the sense that it kind of sounds like all of the 60s at once.
"This is the era that really inspires us as a band in terms of fashion choice for being in stage and Cameron as a songwriter who listens to a lot of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones and anything with that 60s sound to it really which is what gives our song have the sound they have.
"There's a lot of scepticism about our kind of music at the moment just because it's not the norm, we just want to break down that barrier and have our music heard by everyone. "
The band and their respective roles are as follows: Cameron Gorman -Rhythm/Lead Guitar + Lead Vocals (Main Songwriter); Finlay Quinn - Rhythm Guitar + Backing Vocals; Robbie Quinn - Drums + Backing Vocals; Ian Conwell - Rhythm/Lead Guitar; Robert Galloway- Rhythm Guitar; Shaun-Henry Hastings - Bass Guitar
The boys have been getting a few gig offers recently including performances at King Tuts and The Buff Club in Glasgow.
