Brown Bear

There is live music from Largs band Brown Bear at Ye Old Anchor Inn in Largs on Friday June 30 from 9pm.

Concert

"Songs from the Shows" will be performed by local students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in the Dunn Memorial Hall, St. John's Church on Friday June 23 at 7.30pm. Tickets priced £8 are available from Largs Printing Co, 120 Main St., (entrance from M&Co Car Park) members of the congregation and Jim Welsh telephone Largs 674714. Any unsold tickets will be available on the evening.

Summer Fete

The 1st Largs Boys Brigade will be holding a "Summer Fete" on Saturday June 24 in Clark Memorial Church Hall and grounds. There will be a tearoom, various stalls and in the grounds there will a barbecue, Beat the Goalie, Hook-a-Duck, Tombola and various other games . The fete will be from 10am-12.30pm and all proceeds will go toward our new minibus appeal, all are welcome to come along and support us and any donations of baking, tombola etc can be handed in at the hall on either the evening before or on the morning or to Captain's house. All donations will be gratefully received.

Sporting memories

The Celebrating Memories Group held every month at Largs Masonic Lodge. This informal group has developed into an event for people with dementia and their carer. Discussions are formed around gentle image based fun quizzes on a range of subjects including sport, movies, television and music. Their next meeting is on Thursday June 29 from 3pm to 5pm.

Flower Show

Largs Flower Show, Dunn Memorial Hall, St John’s Church, Bath Street, Largs takes place on Saturday 19 August from 10am – 4.30pm. Admission by Donation. Free children’s floral workshops, tea room, raffle, tombola, and more. Plus exhibition Pot Plants, Flowers, Fruit & Veg, Hobbies & Baking, Children’s and Schools. Coffee Morning

The Holiday Club coffee morning will take place on Saturday June 24 from 10am-12 noon at St. Columba's Scottish Episcopal church, Aubery Crescent. You can register your child for the popular holiday club which will be held on Monday 3rd to 7th July 10-12.

Open Day

Halkshill Bowling Club in Largs are to launch a major drive to introduce young people to the game. Tied in to a big Family Day at the Wilson Street club on Saturday, June 24 Halkshill will set up all sorts of bowling games as part of the attractions. With free entry, there will be a barbecue, bouncy castle, music, target bowls and chance to try lawn bowls. The event runs from 10am-5pm.

Age concern

The winners of the Age Concern Prize Draw held in the Cameron Centre, Lade Street, Largs on Monday June 12 were as follows :- £6 Jan Blue, £5 Duncan McMasters: £4 Helen Niven, £3 Elizabeth Blair. All the vouchers can be used in Morrisons Supermarket.
