The old Largs road between Greenock and Largs will be closed until the end of this month.
The countryside route is shut for a total of six weeks, and actually closed on Monday June 19.
During this time, the Routenburn bridge on the North Ayrshire/Inverclyde border is being reinforced, and the expected date of re-opening is the end of July.
Traffic is able to use the old Largs road from the Greenock end but then has to turn on to Dunroad Road towards the Greenock Cut Visitor Centre at Loch Thom.
