Largs RNLI Open day is once again fast approaching on Saturday July 29, and will kick off at 11am until 4pm.

Representatives from all our emergency services will be at Largs Lifeboat Station along with the volunteer lifeboat crew, do come along and meet them, have a chat about the service they provide 24 hours a day 365 days per year.

In attendance will be Largs first responders, Fire Brigade, H.M. Coastguard, Police and the Sea Safety Team.

There will be a display of model boats, hard-working volunteer ladies from the fundraising wing of the RNLI with stalls full of interesting items, and a barbecue provided by the Three Reasons pub.

At 12.30 the Pico Paddle race starts, each boat should have teams of 4, minimum age 16, there is still time for any teams wishing to take part can obtain entry forms at Three Reasons Pub or online largs@rnli.org.uk

As usual, to complete your entertainment, the band who will be playing from 12 noon onwards, a great line up of well- known local talent with accordion, flute, guitar, and banjo.

Highlight of the day of course is at 2.30pm. when the helicopter arrives to carry out wet lifts of the volunteer crew from the water and dry lifts from the lifeboat, always good to see close up.
