Flytipping

The Inverkip area was subjected to flytipping recently. Pictures of one area appeared on the Inverkip and Wemyss Bay facebook page. There were household items, bin bags, mattress and other items dumped near the Kennels on the Loch Thom road. There was a problem with four mattress that were dumped at the side of the road by Braeton House.

The council were contacted and they believed this was private ground but were informed this was not the case. The mattress went from where they were dumped but not far, they were tipped over a wall nearby onto Ardgowan property where it was claimed someone would have to pay to remove them as that was private property. How the items got there was questioned and Cllr. Nelson was notified regarding the problem. The understanding is that the Council will move items from private land but the landowner has to pay.
