Welcome to Largs Primary. This is a very exciting time for us. We are based at Kelburn Campus and Brisbane Campus until we move to our new building in March.
However, we are already working as one school, with school values, aims and procedures being followed across our two buildings.
It was a delight to see our young people return in August looking so smart in our new red and grey uniform. There are so many combinations of uniform ; grey trousers, skirts and pinafores; tartan kilts and pinafores, red sweatshirts with polo shirts; shirts and ties with cardigans and jumpers. It’s a perfect example of “mix and match”.
School Ethos
At Largs Primary School children and staff follow three “Golden Rules” 1) Look after ourselves 2) Look after each other 3) Look after our school
These are promoted within class, playground and at assemblies. Teachers will encourage these Golden Rules through a variety of systems within classes.
House System
On a whole school basis, we have established a new House System. Through this we plan to promote our already positive ethos by awarding points and rewarding the winning house on a weekly, termly and annual basis.
Congratulations to our House Captains, recently elected by their peers: Mitchel Ewing & Grace Tennant (Buzzards) Amy Wilson & Thomas Connick (Goshawks) Taylor Mai Brown & Craig McKeen (Kestrel) Kris Ferguson & Louis Bulloch (Osprey)
P7 Residential Trip
Last week we held and information meeting for P7 pupils and their parents/carers to outline our plans for a residential trip to Ardentinny Outdoor Education Centre in November.
French Sing-a-Long
On Tuesday 26th September, we will be participating in an authority-wide sing-a-long event where thousands of children will be singing at the same time. All classes will be practising their french song over the next week or so.
In-Service
Please note that the school and early years classes will closed for In-service Day on Monday 25th September.
