North Ayrshire planners have recommended that a controversial housing application for 95 houses is given the green light.
The council’s planning committee is going to vote on the decision as we go to press.
Fairlie Community Council have objected, stating that the character of the village would be ‘ruined’, voicing concerns regarding impact on amenity of residents, loss of a right of way, increase in congestion, and flooding.
They say the Dawn Homes development would increase the village’s population by between 20% and 25%, and would increase the number of school age children substantially.
