A Largs environmental group are looking for help from the local community to help build a path for their new Viking Garden at the railway station.

From 13th November until 17th November, Largs Organic Gardens group are looking for volunteers to help during the week of the path build.

Volunteers can participate from half a day, single days or all 5 days.

There will be various jobs and roles within the path build and we will ensure that health and safety is a priority so volunteers will be working within their capabilities.

Roles will include hands on working with the path materials, wheelbarrowing materials from the delivery points, helping the build, leadership roles, refreshments, photographing and taking videos of the event.

Chairperson Jacqueline Bond said: "We are also keen to find out if volunteers have specific skills which will be useful within this setting. Since August 2015 we have been creating a beautiful community garden within Largs Railway Station. We have been fortunate to have received successful funding, donations and utilised many hours of volunteers' time and enthusiasm to create the garden.

The next phase of our project is to build an all access path within the garden so that we can invite more members of the community to visit and enjoy the garden. We have secured a donation of path materials from Morrison Construction and their contractor Malcolm."
