Marine Scotland are hosting a consultation on the Fairlie shore path which will continue until early November.

It comes as a result of North Ayrshire Council applying to the Scottish Ministers of the Scottish Government, under the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010, in respect of path repair and coastal protection works at Fairlie, costing £100,000.
The works involve the construction of a pathway along the frontage which will replace an existing path which has eroded considerably and has completely disappeared in places. Various edge protection methods will be used
(e.g. rock armour, stepped edge or no edge protection in places) depending on the level difference between the path crest and the beach level.
Project consultants AECOM explain that repair works, new sea defences and construction activities will be required with various activities taking place both above and below Mean Low Water Spring Tides.
The plans showing the position of the works may be inspected between now and 3 November during normal opening hours at: · Fairlie Library, and Largs Area Office, Brooksby Medical and Resource Centre, Largs.
Objections relating to safety of navigation or environmental issues in respect of the application should be made in writing to: Licensing Operations Team, Marine Scotland, Marine Laboratory, 375 Victoria Road, Aberdeen, AB11 9DB within 28 days of the date of this notice or by email to: MS.MarineLicensing@gov.scot
