The inaugural Vertex Festival in West Kilbride includes music, comedy and even a gothic ball in time for Halloween!

West Kilbride Ukulele Group present the instrument’s distinctive sounds in a range of musical styles from pop and rock to country with some traditional Scottish tunes thrown in.

Started earlier this year when a few residents discovered a mutual love of the uke, the group now meets every Tuesday in the back room of the King’s Arms.

Join the group to learn more or to be part of the ukelele revolution during Vertex on Tuesday October 25 from 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start and finish at 9pm.

On Wednesday, look out for lots of laughter at West Kilbride Bowling Club with compere Billy Kirkwood introducing some top talent including headliner Gary Little.

And an art exhibition with a twist takes place at The Barony Centre on Thursday featuring artwork by Lucy Russell and Dai-An Craig, music performed by Duo, and cocktail making with Classic Cocktails

Also at The Barony, it’s automatic, it’s systematic, it’s hydromatic... It’s the Vertex Pop-up Cinema on Friday.

With popcorn, hotdogs and a family-favourite musical classic, Vertex finishes by bringing the silver screen to the village. Experience the friendships, romances and adventures of an American high school in the 50s.

Fancy dress is optional – singing along is a must!

And on Saturday evening, West Kilbride's Barony Centre will welcome all for their Halloween Gothic Ball. The frightfest has lined up performances from 'deadly' Sophie Cotton, 'septic' Centre Stage and an eerie set from Artistic License. Entertainment will also include music from classic rock musicals, Sweeney Todd and Dracula. This is a BYOB event.

Tickets for all these events can be purchased from tickets@vertexfestival.co.uk
