Looking for a job? Largs is hosting a North Ayrshire employment fair on Friday, which promises to be one of the biggest held in the area.

North Ayrshire MP, Patricia Gibson and Cunninghame North MSP Kenneth Gibson have organised the event in Barrfields, Vikingar this Friday, 27 October, from 9am-12.30pm.

This event is freely open to all and more than 50 employers have signed up to participate, ranging from Scottish Fire and Rescue to EDF and Ardagh Glass to BT, Scottish Power, Morrison Construction and Morrison’s Supermarkets.

Patricia Gibson said: “It will provide opportunities for residents to have direct access to employers who are actively recruiting staff.

“There will be a range of employment and training vacancies for those seeking to enter or re-enter the workplace, to suit different ages, skill sets, interests and aspirations. Leonard Cheshire Disability, which helps people with disabilities into work and Prince’s Trust Scotland which helps young people get into jobs, education and training will also be there.”

Kenneth Gibson added: “This is the seventh Employment Fayre we have organised since 2013 and the second in Largs. The others have all been very successful for both the employers and people seeking work or just trying to find out what career options are available. I believe that this Friday’s may well be the biggest and best yet.”

“I urge anyone who is seeking to find a job or change jobs to come to the Employment Fayre, see the range of employment and training opportunities on offer and discuss these with the employers on the day.”
