Largs Rotary received a presentation on the endeavours of West Kilbride Craft Town and its 'jewel in the crown' - the Barony Centre.

The members heard how the main shopping area of West Kilbride, was given a new lease of life. when Kay Hall, of the Community Initiative, described how this dedicated group and others worked

extremely hard to transform the run down /boarded-up shops into the attractive shopping district it is today.

Attracting a number of artisan craft workers, to produce jewellery, weaving; glass-painting, and much more to be granted the status of Craft Town.

The 'Jewel in the Crown' is the Barony Centre created from a former church; to provide exhibition space, for many of the locals to display their products, as well as a well stocked tea-room.

With Christmas fast approaching this is an ideal location to pick up some delightful gifts, whilst helping to maintain this project.
