KA Leisure is a winner at the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards 2017.

The leisure organisation achieved the Gold award in the prestigious annual scheme run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.

KA Leisure is the trading name of North Ayrshire Leisure Limited, a registered charity in Scotland, delivering a broad range of sports, physical activities, and events across North Ayrshire, and includes the Vikingar! in Largs in its portfolio.

Alex Murray, KA Leisure's Health & Safety chief received the award at the Glasgow Hilton hotel during a special year for family-safety charity RoSPA, as it celebrates its centenary.

The awards scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, sees judges consider entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems.

In addition, Alex Murray received the RoSPA Guardian Angel Award for contributing to a safer society. Alex said: “We are immensely proud of our record in promoting health and safety in all of the sports and leisure venues which KA operates in North Ayrshire. This award is an accolade to the dedication of all of the staff in maintaining the highest standards.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “The awards are the most prestigious in the world of occupational health and safety, and held in high regard around the world. Winning Gold demonstrates KA Leisure’s commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record. Achieving this standard is no mean feat."
