Christmas is coming, and the Millport Festive Event takes place on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 December.
It stars with a candlelight parade led by Santa and the pipe band from the Garrison car park to the pier and back.
The parade will leave at 5.30pm Everyone will walk to Santa's special grotto in Mapes Cycle Shop where Santa will speak to all the children and all will receive a gift and juice and crisps. There will be carol singing, and everyone is invited to join in.
Cumbrae Primary School will be singing Christmas carols in the Garrison on Friday 8 December to start off the festive weekend
Shops will be open for late night Christmas shopping, and will be serving festive treats. On Saturday, the Santa Fun Run takes place. Cost is £3 for adults, and £5 for adults, and Santa suits will be supplied.
The run is from the Garrison (everyone meet in the DA Hall) to the Field Studies Council and back to the DA Hall for hot soup, juice and biscuits. The race starts at 12.30.
A panto performance 'Wizard of Oz' takes place in the DA Hall on Saturday at 2pm. Everyone welcome to join in all the events and help start the run up to Christmas on the island.
There is a puppet show in the Royal George Hotel - interactive pirate stories with Frazzles the Dragon and Jill, and that is from 3-5pm on Saturday. 
And also on Saturday 9 December, there is a dance and cabaret in the golf club with Millport Golf Club with Millport crooners Morran and Monro. Tickets available at the golf club.
