It is a case of 'Back to the Future' for the Fiddlers Nightclub in Largs as it celebrates the heyday of the Metro night club.

And it is a big welcome back for Joe Deacon, the resident DJ at the Metro from 1989 until 2001, and made the famous Saltcoats night spot the best club in Scotland for 'old skool' music.

Rolling back the years, Joe recalled: "We had over 1,000 people every Saturday night with buses from all over the UK travelling to us every a Saturday.

"Bands like e.g. Njoi,SOR, The Shamen, Scooter,Digital Boy, Ramirez,TTF & Ultrasonic all played live.

"I also ran buses from Glasgow to Saltcoats every Saturday for up to 600 people! It’s still in many people’s hearts,so I decided to have a celebration of our Metro days in The Fiddlers on Boxing Night with my fellow supporting DJs Billy Reid,Gonzo and Paul Norval with Live P.A. NR-Getik & MCs Riddler and Cally."

Tickets are £7 or £10 at the door on the night.
