Police are investigating a house burglary in which expensive jewellery was stolen.

The incident happened in Noddleburn Road, Largs, on Tuesday 12 December. A number of vouchers were also stolen, and enquiries are continuing.

Two unusual thefts took place in Largs which police are investigating.

Between 8-10 December, Industrial batteries were stolen from the storage boxes at the temporary traffic lights which have been in place in Alexander Avenue.

And between 11-12 December. a similar raid took place at Routenburn Golf Course where a number of batteries were stolen from golf buggies. Greenkeeping equipment was also stolen from the KA Leisure run golf facility.

Police believe the traffic lights and golf club incidents are linked, and are appealing for witnesses.

There will be extra police patrols over the busy festive period in Largs town centre over the coming weekends.

With 2 January being a hugely popular day in the town with live music in many bars, the police will also have a higher presence during these festivities.
