A young driver was shaken but unhurt after her Vauxhall Corsa car skidded on black ice and struck a wall on the A78 near Largs Golf Course on Saturday evening.
The front of the vehicle was damaged after the incident near to the entrance of Rockland Park which happened at 8.10pm on one of the coldest nights of the year.
The police traffic management contacted road maintenance operators Transerv to re-grit the area.
The police also contacted Scottish Water regarding a problem concerning water on the road in the specific area, while local residents also contacted Transerv.
Resident Gillian Jack said: "There is water running almost every day across Irvine Road just south of the Golf Club .I have just had a reply from an engineer at Transerv and he says they have a drainage scheme planned for this area in the future to fix the drainage problem."
