Rumours have been spreading that Specsavers are set to move into the Main Street shop in Largs recently vacated by IBAC.
It was the end of an era for a well known IBAC shop which closed its doors on Saturday December 30 after 41 years of trading.
The 'News' understands that a national retailer will be moving into the premises in the coming months, and speculation has been mounting on social media, and around the town, that the retailer involved could be Specsavers, who already have a location at Aitken Street in the town, and therefore would be on the move.
However, a spokeswoman for Specsavers said to the 'News' this week: "We cannot confirm anything at this stage due to commercial sensitivities."
The former Post Office premises have also been vacated next door to IBAC, since they moved to Gallowgate Square in November, and have doubled up as a cafeteria too within the same building.
