It's that time of the year when we all get together and celebrate the birth of the one and only ELVIS PRESLEY. It would have been Elvis' 83rd birthday and it will be celebrated at Prestwick Airport, Scotland the only place that has that claim to fame where Elvis actually did walk on Scottish ground. See the Airport's Star on the concourse that recognises Elvis visit to Prestwick for a fuel-stop on route back home for his triumphant return to entertaining the world. The Elvis Touch, Glasgow welcomes every Elvis Fan to join us in this birthday celebration. Entertaining will be M.J. LEWIS & THE LATE NITE DINERS followed by 100% Elvis in Sound & Vision. There will be a concert of songs and piano music this Sunday including three singers and a pianist who are all senior students at the Royal Scottish Conservatoire in Glasgow

Two sopranos, Myrna Tennent and Heloïse Bernard as well as baritone Laurens Macklon and pianist Javier José Ucendo Malo will present an hour's programme which will include French , German and Spanish songs as well as Russian piano music. Among the composers represented will be Mendelssohn, Schubert , Ravel and Granados.

The concert will end with duets which are settings of poems by Robert Burns. So, a truly international concert performed by some of our best young artists.

It is the return of Largs Folk Night this Sunday and the new year is kicking off with a musical duo in Gary Innes and Craig Irving.

Highland born accordionist and one of the founding members of award-winning Scottish super-group Mànran, Gary Innes has been playing Scottish traditional music for over 15 years. Gary was born and raised in the small village of Spean Bridge in the Scottish Highlands. He picked up an accordion for the first time at the age of 8 because he wanted to be more like the number one hero in his life…his Dad.

Gary released his first solo album How’s the Craic in 2005 and has since released multiple collaborative albums with Ewan Robertson (of Breabach), all-accordion band Box Club and also has three albums with his current band Mànran (www.manran.co.uk).

Craig Irving is a multi-award-winning Scottish musician from Inverness, Scotland.

He is a guitarist and singer with Gaelic folk band Mànran and BBC Radio 2 Folk Award-winning trio, Talisk.
