The Fish Works takeaway on Largs seafront is having a special fundraising night on Wednesday February 7.

Its purpose is to help towards lifting the fishing boat off the sea bed to 'bring home' two fishermen who perished off Tarbert last month in tragic circumstances.

One fisherman survived, but sadly the two other crew Duncan MacDougall and Przemek Krawczyk have not been found although it's thought they were on the vessel - the Nancy Glen. The families wish to retrieve their loved ones as soon as possible. In addition the fishermen have left wives and young children behind.

The Clyde Fishermen want to help do all they can to assist these families at this time and in the future.

The Fish Works team in Largs are holding a charity fundraising supper night on Wednesday 7 February from 4-9pm were all half works suppers will be £2.50 with all proceeds going to the cause.

Tiffany Irvin, co-owner of The Fish Works said: "It is 12 miles as the crow flies from Largs to the location where the fishing vessel was tragically taken. In the past 10 years 94 fishermen have died at sea in the UK, 529 have suffered serious injury and 210 fishing vessels have been lost. This is a cause close to our hearts not just on a professional level and the Fish Works hope everyone can support the cause."
