Inverclyde Sports Centre and Cumbrae Watersports Centre have appointed a new head of operations in Barry Fleeting.
He was previously Business Development Manager at Inverclyde, and has been successful in gaining the promotion to be head of both Inverclyde and Cumbrae, replacing John Kent.
Barry was a graduate of Technology and Business Studies TBS, Strathclyde Business School, and joined sportscotland in 2007 as Partnership Manager, before coming to Inverclyde in March 2017 to work as Business Development Manager.
Barry is well known in junior football circles after being a successful defender with Kilwinning Rangers and Dalry, and comes from a very sporting family. Barry's father Jim is an ex-professional footballer and Scottish Football Association Director of Football Development, and sister Julie is a Scottish international footballer who plays as a striker for Scottish Women's Premier League club Glasgow City.
