Deaf or hard of hearing people aged 16-25 from Largs are being given the chance to develop their money management skills at an upcoming charity-run event.
Action on Hearing Loss Scotland’s specialist Moving On service is holding a session which aims to enhance young deaf people’s skills to control their personal finances.
A Welfare Rights Officer from the charity will also help the young people to discover benefits which may be available to them.
The event will take place in Glasgow city centre between 1.30pm and 4.30pm on Wednesday 14 March. Communication support will be available and reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Action on Hearing Loss Scotland’s Sallie Tomaszewski said: “We look forward to welcoming young deaf people from Largs to our money management course where they can build their confidence in handling finances and setting their weekly or monthly budgets.
“Taking control of their own finances can be a daunting prospect for many young people and this course will enable the participants to ask questions about money matters in a relaxed and friendly environment.”
