Well known comedienne, actor and television travel presenter Elaine C Smith is heading to the west coast to bring her popular live show to The Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock on Saturday March 17.

Elaine C Smith is certainly no stranger to these shores as she rowed with the Firth of Clyde Coastal Rowing Club for her telly programme 'Burdz Eye View' and visited Barrfields Theatre, and even partook in some line dancing in Millport.

As well as a panto star, Elaine has appeared in City Lights, Rab C Nesbitt and Naked Video in a glittering career spanning over 30 years, although joked that she was more of a leg-end than a legend, and now appears in one of the top comedies of the moment 'Two Doors Down' on the BBC, centred around a couple and their insufferable neighbours.

Elaine is also a frequent visitor to Largs and surrounding area, and the 59 year old told the 'News': "I regularly go down to Largs with my grand-daughter and we received a great reaction from the Burdz Eye View show from local shopkeepers and the public when we visited which I am very grateful for. Some shops even gave us stuff for nothing as thanks and they said that the programme gave the area such as a boost for tourism. It has been great fun to do and I have thoroughly enjoyed it doing it.

"I even saved my director from getting a soaking last year at Largs Yacht Haven when we did the rowing with Firth of Clyde Coastal Rowing Club. He was on the jetty and laughing so much that he stepped back and I had to catch him as otherwise he would have gone right into the water!

"The show has been great and I remember talking to a taxi driver up in Barra and he said that many towns up and down Scotland were making a killing out of it."

"People have enjoyed the programme which includes inserts of my stand-up routine at various theatres around Scotland, and many people have asked about seeing the full show, so here is the opportunity."

It is a great chance to see Elaine's new show, which is also going to be appearing at The Glasgow Comedy Theatre at the King's Theatre in Glasgow, and we are offering two free tickets to see Elaine at the Beacon Arts Centre.
