THREE years of funding has been secured for mobile cinema, The Screen Machine, which is visiting Millport next week.
Regional Screen Scotland (RSS) said Creative Scotland is set to provide it with a total grant of £620,350 for April 2018 to March 2021. Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) will also provide a total of £75,000.
Regional Screen Scotland started the mobile cinema, which regularly visits Millport Pier, as well as a host of islands and other far-flung destinations around Scotland, giving the public the opportunity to see the latest movies in the big lorry which is kitted out into a full cinema.
A spokesman for RSS said: “We’re delighted that the continuing success of the Screen Machine, which visited 51 different locations in the last year, has been so firmly endorsed by our two key funders.”
The Screen Machine is coming to Millport, Old Stone Pier on Monday 12 to Tuesday 13 March: Coco (Monday 12 at 5.30pm), Darkest Hour (Monday 12th at 8.30pm) The Greatest Showman (Tuesday 13th at 5.30pm) Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (Tuesday 13th at 8.30pm)
