A MUCH-LOVED community asset in Largs is back in business.
Much-loved Aubrey Pond has been without water during most of the past year, but repairs have been carried out and the pond is in the process of being filled as we go to press.
Independent councillor Ian Murdoch, pictured below, has been campaigning on the issue.
He said:"After nearly 10 months of trying to get Aubery Pond repaired, the work has finally been completed. I had a meeting with the head of service on February 28 and he assured me the pond would be ready for Easter.
"The seals in the pond are being sealed with bitumen, which is what I had originally suggested to the council, so it is good to get this done at last.
"I kist wish they had gone with my original request as I have been asking for Aubery to get repaired for the past ten months, and it has been a big issue with my constituents.
"The model boat club should now be sailing again for Easter, which is good news.
"Hopefully this will be an end to the problem."
