Largs businessman John Corrigan contacted the 'News' to slam roadworks to the south side of town on the A78 at Irvine Road which had not been removed.
Mr Corrigan was fuming as he pointed out that the actual works stopped yesterday, with no effort to clear them away in time for today, resulting in heavy congestion at one of the main accesses into Largs.
He said: "The work was finished yesterday, but yet again it is a case of the road agencies not talking to each other. It caused long queues in and out of town, right next to the entrance to the Haylie Brae, and has already caused a lot of congestion when the works were taking place. The least they could do is have them cleared away."
Cllr. Tom Marshall has written to Scotland Transerv on the matter: "I have had a phone call from a Largs business person who reports that
subsequent on a road repair at Largs A78 North of Haylie Brae Junction ,
traffic lights have been left operation resulting in long traffic queues in
that area.
"Can we get these removed asap and certainly by tomorrow morning , Good Friday , otherwise the congestion will be unbelievable?"
The roadworks were cleared away for Good Friday morning.
