THE fourth classic car rally rolled into Millport on a sweltering Sunday - and proved a hit with both petrolheads and the general public.

An assortment of stunning retro vehicles paraded along the seafront before taking their place at the scenic Garrison grounds.

Cumbrae Queen Lydia Hutchinson was on hand for the big occasion and presented the winners rosette to Scott McAleese for his Jaguar XK150 Roadster.

The second place rosette was won by Alan Brown and his 1959 Beardmore Taxi and third went to Alan Lewiston and his 1961 Series 2 Land Rover.

From Triumph Stags to ex-army Land Rovers and sports cars, there really was something for everyone , and just like Millport itself, it embraced nostalgia and provided an eye-catching array of vintage vehicles and stylish motors.

Millport Classic Car Show was born out of islander Jimmy Newton's love and enthusiasm for old cars.

Having visited classic shows and events for most of his life, Jimmy decided his beautiful island home would make an ideal location for such an event - and it certainly proved the perfect setting in the Sunday sunshine.
